Kasey and Bailey’s wedding at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is definitely in my top 10 weddings of all time. We had such a great time with Kasey and Bailey, their family, and their friends.
Leading up to Kasey and Bailey’s wedding day, the forecast called for rain all day. The night before the wedding, it rained non-stop for hours. Thankfully, on the morning of the big day, the rain let up and we enjoyed a beautiful, slightly overcast day.
We met up with Kasey and Bailey at Kasey’s parents’ house for a few first looks and some candid family photos. Once the first looks were all had, we headed downtown to start the bridal and bridal party portraits. We started at the Cleveland Public Library, which has a beautiful little courtyard with some amazing light and a fun little reflecting pool. After the group photos were done, we moved on to The Mall near the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Tower and the Fountain of Eternal Life, and then up Mall C overlooking the Great Lakes Science Center, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the home of the Cleveland Browns, First Energy Stadium. There were so many great spots for photos of our happy couple. I was thankful that Kasey and Bailey blocked off so much time for photos. We were able to take our time and get some fun and relaxed portraits of the couple.
When we were done downtown, everyone headed to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, where we started off getting a few more photos in the Rainforest. And what’s a trip to the zoo without a few photos of our furry friends.
Once the photos were all done, Kasey and Bailey took a few minutes to freshen up, and then it was time for the main event, the reason we were all there. The ceremony was conducted at Stillwater Place, a beautiful banquet hall on the grounds of the Zoo. Once the vows were exchanged and the first kiss shared, the families gathered on the patio of Stillwater Place for a few more photos. While the room was being prepared for the reception, friends and family were able to enjoy the Circle of Life Carousel, a few live animals were brought out by the zoo staff, and the couple and their guests also enjoyed the zoo’s zipline.
This was by far one of the most fun weddings I have had the honor of attending and photographing. I need to send out a huge Thank You to my good friend Tom Forrest for coming along and documenting this day with me.
